What Is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is a controlled exposure to cold temperatures used to stimulate the body’s natural healing and recovery responses. By briefly cooling the skin and underlying tissues, cryotherapy supports circulation, inflammation management, and cellular renewal.

At Lily & Oak Spa, cryotherapy is offered in three targeted formats:

  • Full-Body Cryotherapy

  • Localized Cryotherapy

  • Cryo Facials

Each option is selected based on your goals, comfort level, and treatment focus.

How Cryotherapy Works

Cold exposure causes blood vessels to temporarily constrict. When the treatment ends and tissues rewarm, circulation increases as oxygen- and nutrient-rich blood returns to the area.

This physiological response may help:

  • Reduce inflammation

  • Improve circulation

  • Support muscular and joint recovery

  • Stimulate collagen activity in the skin

  • Promote nervous system regulation and alertness

Treatments are brief, controlled, and carefully monitored by trained staff.

Cryotherapy Options at Lily & Oak

Full-Body Cryotherapy

Full-body cryotherapy exposes the body to extremely cold temperatures for approximately three minutes. This treatment is often used for systemic recovery and overall wellness. The cryo sauna quickly and efficiently lowers temperature using a “dry ice” environment using nitrogen gas at -180 to -264 degrees Fahrenheit to envelop the body. Your skin will be lowered to temperatures between 32 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

Common uses include:

  • Muscle soreness and post-exercise recovery

  • General inflammation management

  • Energy and circulation support

Pricing

  • Full Body Cryotherapy — $47

  • Full Body Cryotherapy (Student) — $30

Localized Cryotherapy

Localized cryotherapy delivers targeted cold therapy to a specific area using a handheld device. This option allows for precise treatment without full-body exposure. One 6 minute treatment has been demonstrated to produce similar results as 20 minutes of icing. This treatment flushes tissue of fluid and waste rapidly (reducing inflammation and improving range of motion), causing a massive return of regenerative blood supply as the re-warming occurs quickly after application.

Often used for:

  • Joint discomfort

  • Muscle tension

  • Localized inflammation

  • Recovery in specific areas

Pricing

  • Localized Cryotherapy — $35

Mini Cryo Facials

Cryo Facials use localized cryotherapy applied to the face using a specialized device for approximately 6 minutes. This treatment cools the skin while stimulating circulation, making it ideal for both skin health and appearance. Cooling the skin causes the tightening of the microcirculation in the blood stream, known as vasoconstriction, and then the blood vessels and capillaries dilate, flushing toxins & impurities from the skin. This vasoconstriction process accelerates the oxygenation of dermal cells, which in turn stimulates collagen production and promotes cell turnover.

Cryo Facials may help:

  • Reduce facial inflammation and redness

  • Support lymphatic drainage

  • Tighten and tone the skin

  • Improve overall skin brightness

  • Calm reactive or post-treatment skin

Cryo Facials are commonly paired with facials or performed as a standalone treatment for a refreshed, revitalized appearance.

  • Mini Cryo Facial — $35
